Mountain Yellow-legged Frog Ecology
Client: U.S. Forest Service

MGW is conducting a radio telemetry project in Plumas National Forest to research home-range size as well as in-stream and out-of-stream movements of a sensitive amphibian species (mountain yellow-legged frog).  Additionally, we assessed the value of using chin-spot photos for identifying individual frogs. This project has evolved into a large-scale ecology research project  that will include a disease risk assessment, analysis of population genetic structure, and landscape-wide distribution studies. This project is being conducted in collaboration with Integral Ecology Research Center, a non-profit research organization located in Blue Lake, CA.
