Elk River
Slough Shorebird Surveys
Client:
City of Eureka
In
2001 through 2005, we conducted annual shorebird surveys of a mitigated mudflat as well
as adjacent pristine and disturbed mudflats for comparison to assess
the success of this mitigation site. In 2002, we included benthic sampling at these sites to assess macroinvertebrate abundance and diversity of the mudflats.
Non-native salt marsh grass assessments were also conducted each
year. We are currently working on the final report for the 5-year
project.
